Current status

All services are operating normally. Where that is not the case, this page is updated before anything else and carries the most accurate picture we have.

How to read this page

Operational means we have no known issue. Degraded means the service works but is slower or partially limited. Outage means the service is unavailable. We would rather post "investigating" early than post nothing until we have a full answer.

Section 02

Before you report a fault

Most reported faults turn out to be local rather than platform-wide. These four checks resolve the majority of them in under a minute.

  1. 1Check this page. If we already know, we have already said so here.
  2. 2Try a private or incognito window. If it works there, a browser extension on your normal profile is the cause.
  3. 3Clear cached files and cookies for our domain, then sign in again.
  4. 4Confirm your device date and time are set automatically — an incorrect clock breaks secure sessions and authenticator codes.
Section 03

Planned maintenance

Maintenance is scheduled outside peak hours wherever the work allows, and we publish it in advance.

  • Planned windows are announced here and as a banner in online banking, normally several days ahead.
  • Most maintenance is completed with no interruption at all; where a service will be unavailable we say which one and for how long.
  • Scheduled payments due during a maintenance window are processed either side of it, not skipped.
  • Emergency security patching may occur without notice. Protecting accounts takes precedence over convenience, and we explain afterwards.

How we handle incidents

StageWhat we doWhen
DetectAutomated monitoring alerts our on-call engineers, who are staffed around the clock.Continuous.
InvestigateWe post an initial notice here confirming what is affected, even before we know the cause. As soon as impact is confirmed.
UpdateRegular updates while the incident is open, including when there is nothing new to report. At stated intervals.
ResolveWe confirm restoration and continue monitoring before declaring it closed. On recovery.
ReviewA post-incident review identifies the cause and the corrective actions, tracked to completion. After closure.

Your money during an incident

An availability incident affects access, not balances. Your funds and transaction records are held in systems that are backed up and reconciled independently of the channels you use to reach them. Payments queued during an outage are processed once service is restored.

Section 05

If you need something urgently during an outage

  • Telephone support remains available even when digital channels are affected.
  • Card freezing and fraud reporting are prioritised and staffed 24/7 regardless of platform status.
  • If a payment has a hard deadline, tell us — we can often arrange an alternative route.
warning

Outages attract impostors

Fraudsters exploit disruption by posing as support staff offering to "restore" access. We will never contact you first asking for a passcode, a password, or to move money. Always reach us on a number you found yourself.

Section 06

Reporting a problem we have not spotted

If something is broken and this page says everything is fine, we want to know. Tell us the page or action, the time, the device and browser, and any error message shown.
